Like an archaeologist, Mariano Pensotti attempts to reconstruct an extinguished life from the bits and pieces that have survived of the lives of four characters.
Alfredo is reunited with the material remains of the revolutionary leftist militant he once was; his son, Manuel, who used to be a theater director, is working on making a new staging of El Rio, an old play who made him well known; Natalia has an indie rock band in their unsuccessful search for fame until she finds her father’s musical compositions. Damian is simply a young leftist activist. Mariano Pensotti exposes their “true identities” and explores the personal myths and family stories of each of them. When those ideal figures get back to them they confront themselves with their doubles: those who they wanted to become or those who they were in the past. The measure is given by the existing gap between reality and self-image. When I get home I’ll be another one intermingles the truths and family myths of a human being’s identity. The possibility of being another one is always and at the same time forbidden and desired.
